So I see State Farm is trending and that very fact confuses me (unless they went bankrupt of something of that caliber.)

Turns out…. a bunch of religious right are whining about State Farm making material available to help LGBTQ folk feel more comfortable.

I should have known.

re: #6 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus

State Farm actually kicked me out about 6 years ago. I’d had my second wreck in four years, and they decided they no longer wanted me. Then, when I left, they’re like “You could join one of our other groups.”

re: #23 Backwoods_Sleuth

What was the good story they had to tell? Showing a Mithril chain shirt to Gandalf and Aragorn and saying “The halfling was dear to thee, I see. Know that he suffered greatly at the hands of his host. Who would have thought that one so small would endure so much pain?”

Oh wait that was the Mouth of Sauron… not the Mouth of Mauron.

I thought this was interesting: it’s an article by someone who works for the Southwest Theological Seminary using Good Omens to critique Christians.

thegospelcoalition.org

The tl;dr version is how bad have Christians been doing things that a story like Good Omens can be wrong in its theology and be a valid critique of Christianity, and may Christians need to pay attention to the message that they don’t know everything, even about God.

There is certainly space and time to engage shows like Good Omens in the name of theological accuracy, calling foul on its errors and pointing out its own inconsistencies

Depends on what “the true and correct standard” is they’re comparing to
